Interested in a consulting career but not sure if consulting is for you? Have you been a consultant for a number of years and feel the need to reevaluate your decision? Or maybe you woke up one day and realized you are an "independent consultant" moving from one gig to the next gig. You shake your head and ask yourself how did this happen? And now what?
This course walks you through basic consulting concepts and with the help of a step-by-step self-assessment covers topics to consider before deciding if a career as a consultant is for you. It:
- Includes an overview of consulting and types of consultants
- Discusses the key characteristics, qualities, and traits of good, if not great, consultants.
- Helps you identifying your personal and professional goals
- Discusses four key knowledge and skill areas all consultants need to understand – Basic Business, Technical Expertise, Interpersonal Skills, and Consulting knowledge
- Examines your support structure.
The modules are integrated and build on one another. There are videos for every lesson and downloadable handouts to jot down your notes as you work through the modules. Use your notes to help you analyze if consulting is a career fit.
The course was designed to help you to assess your consulting appetite and initial focus for a practice.
And provide you with information to start building a roadmap to becoming a successful consultant.
